Is the M60 good in War Thunder? ›

When engaging with other medium tanks, the M60 offers an excellent gun which can dominate any other medium tank.

Description. The Type 5 is currently the most powerful gun mounted on an IJA tank in War Thunder. It draws parallels to the famed German 88 mm KwK43, sporting similar muzzle velocity and penetration, but with significantly increased explosive filler and improved angled armour penetration.

The only weak spot being the lower sides of the hull and turret sides and rear, the only way to reliably penetrate it is to get a shot from the side.

They can be really useful for helping in fighting aircraft and open-platform vehicles, on a reserve US tank it actualy saved me once and I've gotten in many situations where a working machine gun would have helped out a lot.

The M60 can be accurately fired at short ranges from the shoulder thanks to its design. This was an initial requirement for the design and a hold-over in concept from the M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle. It may also be fired from the integral bipod, M122 tripod, and some other mounts.

Overview. Artillery support is a game mechanic available for ground vehicles to use against the enemy. Currently, the artillery option is only available to light tanks, medium tanks, and anti-aircraft vehicles, with some exceptions.
