Oh, I always liked that guy on Hill Street Blues.
Mac, I can understand that. If I had something growing that my parent's had planted, I'd treasure it also.

My Dad grows roses too....I think he likes this because it is Mom's flower.

I'm glad you mentioned Hill Street Blues because I looked up the cast and I think I was thinking of Robert Prosky. He played Sgt Stan Jablonski. He has a face that you recognize but a name you can't recall. Thank you for helping out, jals! Sherry

aww Mac, that is nice he is so proud of his flower. It is beautiful!
My dad used to grow roses and they were gorgeous. I don't know how he did it, because we can't seem to keep them growing here.
But my husband isn't the kind to do research and change the soil either.

He was in very good spirits...we took him out on his little walker - roller....(glad it is not a harley ;0)
he loves those flowers and they have more on them now...but wanted to get one before they got hammered by the rain. it took a lot to get him out there and back...so not sure if I can get another when more are on. He had me send photos to the kinfolk he was so proud of his flower. Thank you everyone for stopping by ☺♥

Dad looks like an actor whose name I can't recall (of course! damn old age), but whose face I can see in my mind. He always played a rough, tough talking guy. Someone's dad, or a Sergent in the Army, or a police person in charge. Someone help me out here! Sherry

What a perfect shot and a wonderfully encapsulated memory!
I think this might be a Hibiscus, which has a long stamen with a stem-like bottom with the pollen on the top-end.

He looks great! We have the same kind of hibiscus 🌺 and it is blooming like crazy!!

Not sure what kind it is ...it is one my Mother planted years ago. Each year I take a picture of him with it...I missed it last year as we were waiting until more bloomed...then a huge storm came and beat them down...so we went ahead and got one now. He will be 90 in OCT ...he promised me 100...trying to hold him to it ;0)

Many more years with blooming flowers.
